Yes that is the beam resting on a small lump in the road that sticks up no more than 15mm

The last journey out for the beetle ended by hitting this flat bit of road... It caused the bonnet to fly open quiet a bit of stuff the be thrown out of the front of the car, nearly including my tool box, it also dropped the front of my car onto the floor making it scrap just moving forwards :-( Managed to scrape it off the main road onto a side road... Hard to try and work out how to make the car move enough to drive it home (about 15 miles) Once up ion the air we could see the problem... That's the Framehead on the front of my Chassis, its ment to be straight (none of those creases) and it holds the front beam/axle onto the car, its has bent more on one side than the other meaning the beam is sitting way off straight, it also push the front of the beam back which is why the car was sat on the floor :-( The impact was quiet hard even tho i was only going about 5-8 mph and the shock transfered through the car, breaking the rear number plate in half and splitting the inner wings... you can also see how bent my track rod bar is More of the damage Our only option at the time was to try and move the adjuster on the beam as high as we could get it the jack made the cracks a bit bigger... Testing to see if my slightly bigger spare would help... (Mr Afwo doesn't know if it'l work) Too Low ? Bigger wheels lifted it a bit But had a big problem... Since then progress has been slow and cold Scrapped a hole through the bottom of the spare wheel well  The Crack in the inner wing (o/s) How i left her, looking a bit sad for herself But new stuff arrived today ;D Not beetle parts... but hopefully being able to find my tools when i need them should speed everything up Gota love sale stuff, specialy when you get the top half free ;D
