Gonna try to keep a log of the work thats happening to Lowrie. Hopefully in the next week or so things will be underway! Will add in pics where possible too.
Already had some work done to it last year to get it through the MOT etc. Which included:
Cab Floor Repairs on both sides Front inner arch repairs B Pillar replacement on passenger side Cargo door sill replacement Belly Pan repairs Battery trays on both sides Engine lid mount replacement Front bumper temp repair
There is a whole load more to do yet, when time and money allow! But the next major job we have to do is the replacement of ALL window seals (inc. pop top) and any repairs to the metal around them. This will at least allow us some drip-free motoring and Boogie can crack on with the Interior plan ;D
Took delivery of the pop top parts today:
New Vents Vent Seals Glass Seals + Tool (if anyone needs to borrow this handy tool, just ask!)
;D

We had some nice shiny bits arrive today... ;D Basic Sony Stereo but it'll do the job. Some Sony 6x9s, still waiting on the front speakers to come... Pair of '60s Raydot Amber Lense Fog lamps in working order (apparently!) hoping to have them all wired up for the trip at the weekend (just the stereo for now Lammy )

Little update: Made the trip to Belgium with only one tiny problem - a hundred yards down the road form leaving the house it started raining... Molly shouts from the back seat "Its Dripping!" But, not to worry - one of the seals round the glass in the poptop hadnt quite met in the middle and there was a half millimeter gap where the water dripped in. A good finger of Vaseline from Jez on the tunnel (that sounds really dodgy!) and we are sorted ;D Many many thanks to Lammy for the Stereo install - and sorting out that issue with the wipers Ive got the fog lamps on but not wired in yet. So, a couple of pics of the some of the work Bobby did for us... Window seals in (didnt get pics of all of them): He also had to do some pretty major fabrication round the rear quarter as it fell to bits when pulling out the seal round the rear hatch!:

Ive been doing a lot of thinking and debating about what i should do about the grey primer thats on the body at the moment. We're all agreed that it needs to come off cos its doing it no good, but do I strip it off and go back to original paint - or - sand it down and coat with a temporary paint job till the final body prepping can be done.... Well, we're gonna rub it back a fair bit and coat it with a satin finish of some sort for now. Ive got three colours in mind and each time i decide on one, i change my mind its not easy, even though its only temporary! So i thought id try to make a start on the roof while i deliberated. The fibreglass pop-top had been painted with a brush and is flakey and horrid! Spent the afternoon with a scraper on one side, gettin the loose shit off before attacking with the sander ;D Its lovely and smoooooooth now! Also found some flakes coming off the front half of the metal roof - might as well have a go at this now im up there! Roof will be painted in white, probably satin too.

Oh and the hub caps are goin back on for a bit ;D They need a bloody good scrub down and polish with Autosol! I very VERY nearly did them with the grey primer.... but resisted. I still think it would look good, but these caps are OG Oval ones so i may buy a cheap set and paint them

Did Tash's dog of a chrome burner at the weekend and what I thought was a far to gone frame came up almost new.
