Well, had my first long session on Harry tonight, Wheels off, chassis on blocks and now he is higher than Lammy's van ;D ;D Bumpers off, they are spot on and a lovely patina, keeping them just as is (might waxoil the back of em) Dropped the front shox and had a look at the beam (it's knackered) just as well i am fitting a narrowed one that's been hit by a lowering stick ;D ;D He is wellll rusty but the chassis is spot on, gunna steam clean it and re-waxoil before rebuilding with new beam and reconditioned brakes. Anybody got any recomendations for good front shox ? I am up again on Monday to get last wheel off (broke a 19mm socket gettin the bugger off) need me blowtorch too. Will post some piccies Monday night. I will try and keep the thread goin, cos it's gunna be a long ole haul

I used KYB G2 shocks on mine from SSP when i lowerd her, the ride was a little harsh with the back empty but now ive sorted the interior its getting back to the old bouncy bouncy stock ride. Hope that helps, looking foward to the progress on this one.

dependant on how low you wanna go, for ultra low then the best ive found are empi lowered rear bus shocks, they go nice and low and you dont loose any damping.

Well it's been a while so here's an update. Having Harry 140 miles away doesn't help the resto job but things are progressing albeit a little slowly. All 5 wheels are at away at the mo being blasted and stove enamelled in a very nice battleship grey, I am just about to send the deep domed chrome caps that I obtained, away for chroming so they will also be back soon. Going for 135 x 60 x 14s on the front and something with a slightly bigger wall on the back....anybody got any suggestions ? Tyres and wheels should be finished in a couple of weeks. The old beam is knackered (cracked) see the pick below. I might see If I can repair it and sell it but I doubt it ! Going to order my weedeater beam at the start of August from Creative Engineering (they are closed till the 26th July ! ) It will have a 6" drop and be 4" narrowed so the deep dome caps will be tucked in nicely at the front Shocks are off and they are in really good nick, so I will sell them to help finance some shorter one for the front. I am going down two splines at the back to start with and see what it looks like. The Chassis is ok (apart from jacking points) although the cab floor is Fu*ked see pic below. Got the front bumper off and it is solid, with a really nice rat look so that is staying as is but the front panel is absolutely shot. As it much as it pains me to lose the rust I am going to have to replace it Oh well, don't worry it wont be painted shiny (don't tell Paula). But the BIG NEWS is that I have a garage in Duston ;D ;D This means when the slammin is finished, He's coming home, meaning progress will be much faster hee hee (wets himself with excitement). Thats all for now, I feel like this is a bit of a SCD project and I welcome suggestions from everyone on Harry. When he is launched we need some serious SCD branding on him

My garage will be too small for yours and get round it, but I took his wheels to a Powder Coaters in Northampton at the weekend and I asked him about renting booths out to spray yourself and he said he would deffo consider it. I didn't want to post anything till I got my wheels back to see what they are like, but it's deffo worth a look. They are : Unique Paint & Powder St James Northampton 01604 591994
