semaphore help!!

hi guys my bug has been converted to a 12v. one of my semaphores has been replaced by previous owner to a 12v but one is still the original 6v which then starts to smoke if i use it.. was wondering if there is a cheap solution to this like some sort of convertor or resistor. or do i have to buy a new semaphore at a cost of 150 smackers!!! any info will help

yes you can use a resistor in series, you can buy them on line but look on ebay the a only a few quid you will need about 2ohm 10 watt
