The porsche gearbox thread

Having finished the turbo install as things have gone along ive got far too much power a T1 box can handle so i could have,

1 fitted an uprated bus box
2 uprated a T1 box as far as you can go and keep my fingers crossed
3 fit a porsche box

ive decided to go for the porka box a G50 box from a 1990 911 these can take at least 550 bhp so that should beable to take some abuse ;D
the proka box next to a standard T1 box





now ive got to make this lot fit







well after 20mins with the plasma cutter does this



another 90 mins with the help of a 9" grinder gets this



thats it so far got to get some metal stock and start rebuilding the chassis with the box in

Astounding! The porka box looks Sooo big compared to the type 1. Is that my type 1 or what you took out?

lol the porka box is massive and weighs a ton but has the same bolt pattern as a bug engine and yes that your box

that'll do it. same box as Russ Fellows runs in his 700bhp street car. very strong and can pull well over 160mph if you have the power to do it.
guessing you are going to go coil over now as you have chopped the torsion bar houseing out?

hi i went coil over a while ago im thinking of doing the same on the front end so i can go round corners:). i should have about 500bhp so maybe 150 lol

front and rear mount done ive got fit the IRS brackets and sort the shifter out put some metal back were i cut it out and then i have to do is clean and paint it all
