i've got a 1972 bay, 1600 engine, with a 34pict3 carb. I believe the engines running too rich, (smell of fuel while driving) what do i need to adjust to get it running better please. Iv looked up a few things, but the older carbs seem to be easier

If you can smell it while you're driving it's usually the exhaust donuts blowing allowing the fumes into the heaterbox. However, running rich can be caused by a few things, commonly it's a sticking or faulty choke, needle valve leaking, timing out etc, you shouldn't really adjust the carb without knowing the engine is set up properly first. I can do it for you if you fancy a drive to sunny Daventry, i can check the engine and set it up for a very reasonable cost.
