Just wondering if you can buy all the cable and fuse box etc etc all together as a kit?
Might get Dubsy to do me bug and give it some fresh new cable and get it all nice and tidy and clean as a whistle!

Does it need to be retro? Your best solution and best value is to upgrade it using relays on all the higher load items and a modern blade fuse fuse board (readily available), all wires can have their terminals replaced and soldered, the odd wire that's no longer copper coloured can be replaced. Replacing sections of wire is perfectly acceptable (electricity wise) if it's done properly.

If you get a good wiring diagram it should only take a day Having a wide variey of colored wire helps! Rewired my beetle in a weekend, not completely because some of the wires were ok but replaced quiet alot
