I think thats just a little to big ;D You could use a Rolls Royce Meteor engine (de-tunned Merlin), as they are commonly available and I have seen a Ford GAA or GAF V8 fitted into a Mustang ;D The Mustangs GAAthe GAA was a ford V12 aircraft engine which had for pots lopped off, this was used as the power plant for the M4A3 model of the Sherman, the engine exceeds 1000 Cubic inches in piston displacement and develops over 500 HP at just over tick over speed. Plus its DOHC and all aluminum, and I know a bloke in Belgium that got the stock of spares for these ;D Good old Uncle SAM, he always had more spare parts then were ever needed. The GAF is the same engine but was designed to have a lower overall hight, so that it could be used in the M26 (Pershing) medium tank introduced in the closing months of WWII. Original Olive Drab GAA model as used by Uncle SamAs you can see the Mustangs version has been much modified but its quite a common engine in use for transplanting into muscle cars.
